Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The EPIC Business Intelligence Developer at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for supporting critical analysis, business function, and decision making by staying attuned to business challenges, monitoring data, and creating reporting, extracts and dashboards. This role assists line of business stakeholders in working closely with administrators, providers, payers, and other staff to investigate and design initiatives in order to generate value from data through data-driven decision-making and business growth. This role requires EPIC Clarity Data Model Certification and engages technical and organizational skills to complete duties and identify opportunities for process alignment to best practice to achieve optimal results, measurable change, and a quantifiable, positive contribution.
| **JOB** **FUNCTIONS** | | --- | * Responsible for all stages of the business intelligence cycle: understanding business objective, collecting business requirements and translating them into data requirements, designing and developing reports or dashboards (code and visualization), scheduling and deployment of business intelligence components in accordance with supplied standards and best practices, and completing accurate and timely documentation. * Possesses depth within a specialized, critical discipline and/or breadth of substantive professional knowledge that crosses disciplines within the professional field. * Uses various software applications such as desktop tools, spreadsheets, report writing software, statistical software, graphical presentation tools, and Business Intelligence applications to assemble, manipulate and/or format data. * Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or services. * Works with Application Analysts to test and validate reports after installation and implementation of system patches, service utilities and version upgrades as assigned. * Leads functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity as needed. * Leads others to solve complex problems; uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions. * Impacts the achievement of customer, operational, project, or service objectives; work is guided by functional policies. * Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations. * Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view. * Analyzes quantitative and qualitative data throughout the course of the denials management program, including the development of data collection strategies. * Performs data analysis and summarizes findings for stakeholder review. * Interprets and manages data within relational databases to ensure expeditious access, meaningful relationship, validity, pertinence, and reporting timeliness. * Develops performance dashboards with key performance indicators, formulas, and other related data to track trends on both a micro and macro level. * Prepares, maintains, reviews, and submits reports that create interest, impact, and credibility for decision-making to management. * Manages process improvement technical initiatives and projects within the enterprise by recognizing process improvement opportunities, engaging stakeholders, conducting and communicating root cause of denials (e.g., discrepancies in patient account information, coding, charging, documentation, etc.), and developing and executing plans to achieve best practice efficiency. * Serves as a resource to download and compile benchmarking and best practices data. * Designs , and develops and troubleshoots concise reporting packages, extracts, and dashboards that implement complex programming processes to support key business functions and initiatives. * Identifies potential sources of data and assists in developing data-driven initiatives to resolve any issues. * Completes additional assignments and maintains current knowledge of the data analytics field by following industry trends, as well as completing any required ongoing training and instruction. * Provide rotating 24/7 on-call support for issues with interfaces that occur outside of normal business hours
